Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is a two dimensional fighting game released using the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Arcade download services. The version was released on both floppy disk, which features MIDI audio, and CD-ROM, which features remixed music different from the 3DO version. Each player has a Super Combo gauge at the bottom of the screen which is filled up while the character performs their basic and special techniques against the opponent.

The fifth iteration of Street Fighter II makes further changes to each characters' movelist while rebalancing the game and adding a new Super Meter (with a Super Combo attack for each fighter), adjustable game speed settings, and a hidden final boss. The Street Fighter II series took a while to appear on the PlayStation and Sega Saturn due to the fact that Capcom had already moved on to the Street Fighter Alpha series on the arcades.
